Residential Projects
69-71 Winchester Road, Four Marks (now known as D'Arcy Court)
Haworth King were commissioned by Imperial Estate Holdings to secure Town Planning consent for the residential development of this site.
The scheme involved the demolition of two 1920's bungalows and the erection of five two storey detached dwellings on this 0.25 hectare site located within the settlement boundary of Four Marks. Following the general linear grain of development, two dwellings with double garages and three dwellings with integral garages were planned around a private access road. The layout provided for three dwellings to face on to the public open space and cycle path route and two on to the A31.
Consent was secured in 2001, and the site subsequently sold to and developed by Westbury Homes (Holdings) Limited.
Construction was completed in 2003. The scheme has been named D'Arcy Court to reflect the literary hero of the novel Pride & Prejudice, by Jane Austen who lived in the nearby village of Chawton.
Haworth King were subsequently commissioned to secure planning consent for a similar development at Nos. 95/97 Winchester Road.
