New Ambulance Station The Street, Tongham, Surrey, 1996 - 1997 for Surrey Ambulance Service/NHS Trust Contract Sum £415,000.00
Design and construction of purpose built Ambulance Station to replace their existing Farnham facility comprising, garaging for ambulances and PTS vehicles, together with offices, toilets and shower, locker rooms, training room and Mess Room, with car parking and landscaping and a washdown facility for the fleet of vehicles.
The Practice's involvement, in collaboration with the client, included site search and feasibility studies relative to the area of search and demanded by the necessity to meet the new ORCON standards for accident and emergency response.
Planning negotiations with the Local Authority were lengthy as the site lay in an area outside the Metropolitan Green Belt but in an area where development would normally be resisted. Detailed planning consent was secured after a period of negotiation and consultation with the Department of the Environment and the building was completed in 1997.
