Commercial Projects

The Brakspears Malthouse, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire.

The project resulted from W.H. Brakspear & Sons commissioning Haworth King to re-plan their existing brewery operation. The buildings are located in the middle of Henley's Conservation Area.

The Malthouse became redundant and an alternative use had to be found for the Listed Building. The design for the conversion to offices involved extensive structural alterations to achieve acceptable floor storey heights. The structure comprises of robust brickwork and cast iron columns and beams. The scheme also included the conversion of the Stable Block to self-contained residential flats.
